Owen Philip King (also known simply as Owen King) was born on February 21, 1977.

He is the son of Tabitha and Stephen King, and the younger brother of Naomi and Joseph King (also known as Joe Hill). He grew up in Bangor, Maine, and developed an interest in writing during middle school. King studied at Vassar College and later at Columbia University, where he earned a Master of Fine Arts degree.

His first book, “We’re All in This Together,” a collection of three short stories and a novella, was published in 2005 by Bloomsbury USA. His short fiction has appeared in various magazines, including One Story and Prairie Schooner. King’s debut novel, “Double Feature,” was published in 2013 by Scribner. In 2017, his third novel, “Sleeping Beauties” (written in collaboration with his father), was released.

He is married to writer Kelly Braffet. He writes articles and essays for various publications, including The New York Times and The Morning News.
